Nuts & Bolts for CPSC Elementary
Students are expected to read for a minimum of 30 minutes a day, either with an adult or independently. Ask your child's teacher for suggestions!
Each quarter you will receive either a written Narrative or a Milestones checklist. The Narrative is 3 to 7 pages describing your child's development and academic progress. Milestones are checklists of academic benchmarks for each grade level. Quarterly Conferences give each family time to discuss their child's progress with the teacher, and get answers to any questions that might have come up.
Meeting Student Needs
We are committed to effectively serving all of our students. Our teachers provide differentiated instruction, with extra enrichment and/or extra support for those students who need it.
In addition to schoolwide News & Announcements, each elementary classroom teacher provides regular updates about classroom activities, needs and volunteer opportunities. To get on the list, email email@example.com.
Parent-teacher conferences may be scheduled at any time during the year by the parent or the teacher. At the end of each quarter, parents sign up for a 30-minute conference with your child’s teacher. Teachers send the child’s written narrative report to families before conferences to give parents time to read the narrative and prepare any questions.
Our Parent Handbook is a helpful resource with everything from policies to philosophy. Be sure to read our car line procedures!
From shy kindergartner to confident young student, your child will grow in amazing ways while in elementary school.
