Support CPSC
As a public charter school, Central Park School for Children is funded by federal, state, and local taxes. However, charter schools receive less funding than traditional public schools. Additional fundraising is necessary to provide our children with exceptional teachers, a rich curriculum, and a welcoming facility.
The Annual Fund (Sunshine Fund)
Donations to CPSC go to our Sunshine Fund, which supports all kinds of educational opportunities for our students. While anyone can contribute to the Sunshine Fund, we invite everyone in our school community to contribute each autumn. No donation is too small!
Other Fundraising Projects
In addition to our Sunshine Fund, we organize a variety of fundraising initiatives and events such as:
- Box Tops for Education
- various retail "loyalty card" reward programs
- fun events such as Book Fairs
- dining-out nights at local restaurants such as Elmo's Diner
- our annual Save Our Arts benefit
Participation in fundraising projects is a choice, not a requirement, and we do not ask families to sell products.
Our annual Strawberry Festival is a school-wide project to raise funds for the ongoing transformation of Old North Durham Park, the big field behind our school, into a community urban oasis for play and learning.
