Learning at CPSC
The Central Park School for Children was created to provide an “uncommon education”, with a child-centered, project-based, integrated arts approach that is unique among public elementary schools in Durham.
Learning at CPSC is active and hands-on, with academics and the arts interwoven in an authentic, real-world way. North Carolina’s standard statewide curriculum -- the Common Core State and NC Essential Standards -- is richly expanded by our talented faculty and members of our school community.
We seek to challenge each child as an individual, complement each child’s strengths and weaknesses, and embrace different intelligences and learning styles.
